I missed the blackout, being in Chicago. Lauren made it home without too much trouble, and the apartment more or less became a drop-in center for people who couldn't make it out of Manhattan.

I'm supposed to meet Lauren in Washington, D.C. tonight. I don't know if that's going to happen.

Well, it was a bat mitzvah, so I didn't have much choice but to wear a suit. Fortunately, the facilty was extremely well air-conditioned.
