lawnrrdI'm currently in the middle of brief pit stop in my own home. Tomorrow afternoon I fly to Chicago, where I'll be until Friday. I'm mostly packed, but there's still stuff to do. I have to bring a suit for Saturday, plus workout clothes so I don't turn to solid lard, plus my study material, plus my laptop and all its accoutrements, all of which mean lots of luggage.
My boss, for his part, is also flying out, but only for a day. He's taking us to a Cubs game that night, which will be fun, if a little inconvenient.
After that, I spend three days working with a client to start a project that everyone—including the client—knows I won't be around to finish.
I'm only really comfortable when I have more work than I know what to do with, because it keeps me focused. It's when things ease up that I get in trouble.
Lauren is grumpy. Apart from everything else, she gets nervous when I'm not home, and there's a lot of that happening lately. She's also a little worn out from putting together a baby shower for a cow-orker.

Date: 2003-08-12 10:19 am (UTC)i'm at my internship and i'm feeling super creative, but not at all desk-happy at the moment.
i got a virus on my laptop at home and i have no idea how but i downloaded the removal tool so i can fix it when i get home.
i took a bus to state college. did i mention that in my journal? i can't remember.
i apologized to laura for breaking her trust and now it's over over over. and i'm not hooking up with l. the younger either. all over.
sorry lauren is grumpy. i actually offered to help her with the baby shower. anyway.
i understand the need to have a lot of work to do... today it's just not the work i want to be doing. (i didn't get the other job and i'm actually happy about that)
