What's Going On

After several days of preparation, we are nearly ready for Lauren's birthday party tonight. Which is to say, our refrigerator is full of food, we have ordered more, we have hired bartenders and a singer, and the apartment has been decorated to within an inch of its life. All attempts to keep the guest list down to a reasonable size (which included not inviting my friends) have failed miserably, and so we expect more than twice as many guests as our apartment will hold.

In the meantime, while cleaning our water cooler last night, I managed to break it slightly and we can't get hot water out of it. The water company has been alerted.

The party will be a great deal of fun, but all the work has me grumpy right now. Even with the hired help, the cleanup will run late, especially since we have to take our bed apart and move it to a neighbor's apartment to accomodate the crowds.

Lauren gives good parties.
