I had a strep colony living on my face for over two years, so it could be worse. ;) Turns out I'm a chronic strep carrier, because a normal person shouldn't tolerate a strep infection for that long.
Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase, "Down with colonialism!"
For my part, I don't think I've ever been diagnosed with staph or strep of any flavor. Which is not to say I don't carry it; for all I know, I'm carrying bubonic plague. But if I am, no one on my expensive extensive medical team has ever thought to look for it.
I'm sure this happens to a lot of people. Sometimes, when I get a bad waxing operator, I break out in a long-lasting rash. In this case since it was your first time I wouldn't blame the operator. It is possible some hairs (even many hairs) broke off below the skin rather than being pulled out. Since you are male, the hair may have been stronger and more resistant.
