Baby Birds
May. 22nd, 2002 12:02 pmIf I put my wireless access point on the fire escape, I can usually work from the coffee shop next door. There's still nasty interference from somewhere.
Today I was working from the coffee shop, sitting in the front, and I noticed a few people gathering in front of my building, looking up at my fire escape. I asked this guy what they were looking at. He said that a baby bird was on the sidewalk and that it must have fallen from my building.
I've never seen a nest there, but I thought it was possible. Meanwhile, the mother bird was keeping her distance. We figured it most likely came from the roof of my building or one next to it. Someone got a box and put the bird in it, then I opened the front door, we went up to the roof, and we let the bird out. I hope the mother finds it and can get it back to the nest.
Meanwhile, I think I want a chicken sandwich for lunch.
