I'm finally home.

It's not so bad, actually, but it's annoying to plan on staying overnight and then to stay for four days. I definitely needed to change into clean clothes. I did what I went there to do, though, which was good. I also helped them plan future projects, which means more billable work for me, which was better.

Still, I didn't have a fast Net connection, and even dial-up was unreliable because my laptop is a Dell, and Dell sucks. So I have to unpack, and sort through my papers, and catch up on things internettish, including the shower meme. The DirecTV installer guy should be here this afternoon, too, to wire the bedroom and upgrade the antenna.

Tonight, I think, will be just a quiet evening with the wife. I really don't want to talk about this weekend because I'm dreading it.

glad your back, won't ask you about the impending weekend of dread. flight delays suck. i'm terrified that i'm going to miss my morning flight to haiti on wednesday. eep.

going-away dinner/drinktime for me on tuesday night. you're invited. divebar, 96th & amsterdam, 7pm. would love to see you there. would forgive you if you can't make it, although the temptation to find some voudoun manner of retribution would be terribly alluring.

And this weekend is mostly a burdensome familial obligation, made worse by the need to pretend to enjoy it. You know what that's like.

that i can most certainly understand. i do hope that the familial obligation is met with a modicum of discomfort.

and i'm now a bit distressed at my inability to use the correct verion of "you're" in the above comment. damn. too much stressing over my presentation, too little sleep.
