Zzzzz . . .
Apr. 15th, 2003 10:47 amSleepy. Am entirely too busy to have a job.
Last night I finished our taxes. We had already started, but there were a few things we needed to finish. So I started at about 11 PM. (I had spent the early part of the evening helping Lauren to fold, seal, address, and stamp about two hundred flyers for an event she's helping to organize.)
Things went swimmingly except:
I got everything printed and filed and such and made it to bed at 5 AM, which is a whole separate drama. Lauren sleeps more lightly than a fat mouse at a cat show, and when woken has terrible trouble getting back to sleep. And we have the creakiest floors in New York. So I woke her up and she is now upset at me.
Now I have a conference call for work, then I have to go stand in line for a year at the Post Office. And don't even get me started on the bullshit that the Department of Sanitation is putting me through.

Things went swimmingly except:
- The tax software deleted all the information from our state tax forms.
- The tax software then lost all the information about Lauren's business deductions, and I had to fight with it for an hour before it would let me put the deductions back in.
- Then the software crashed three times as I was trying to file our returns, each time deleting all the changes I had made.
- We owe AMT this year. It's really sinking in that when they talk about "taxing the rich," they mean me.
