Greetings from Battlestar Galactica
Apr. 10th, 2003 07:46 pmHello from sunny Salt Lake City, Utah. I was told to come out here for work, I arrived last night, and I leave tomorrow morning. Much of the interim time is spent at the Courtyard by Marriott by the airport. It's not the most luxurious hotel I've stayed in this month, but it's clean and comfortable, and my company will pay for it without complaint.
Unfortunately, I'm therefore not going to piano bar tonight. I will miss it, because it's simply a good thing. No matter how sick and wrong it gets sometimes, it's just right.
I came out here for some training by the developers on the features of the latest version of my company's software, which was surprisingly useful. I have another meeting tomorrow morning about our new bonus plan, and I have been told to expect good news.
The only real highlight of my trip so far has been lunch at a mediocre chain restaurant, because the hostess must be Belladonna's younger sister. (The link has no nudity, but it's the sort of site your IS people almost certainly filter out.) Belladonna was raised a Mormon and came from this part of the country, and she apparently has a younger sister who's about the right age, so it's plausible, and this girl's features were almost the same as hers. Of course, there's no socially-acceptable way to make sure, but it's fun to assume it was, and I will do so.
Hopefully tomorrow I will get home in time to join my wife at the Joe Jackson concert. Then Saturday is lots and lots of errands because Sunday we have to zip to Philadelphia for my nephew's bris.
