Er... the only person I know named Sauron is usually described as "Sauron -- rhymes with 'moron'" -- though in his case, it's because of his personality. (And the number of times we've had to clarify the distinction between Soren and Sauron is grrrrrr-worthy.)
Well, yes, he'd undoubtedly take some abuse for his name, and he'd have to put up with people mispronouncing it, too. But it is to be hoped that such misfortunes would merely help him develop the toughness of spirit he would need to dominate the entire world until the end of time itself.
Then again, maybe I should just name the kid Dave or Spike or something like that and keep the name Sauron for the cat.
