From the "They Don't Make 'Em Like They Used To" Department

Last Sunday, I put new windshield wipers on the car. This afternoon, while Lauren was driving on the FDR Drive in the steady rain we've had all day, the brand-new passenger-side wiper broke off. She retrieved the wiper and tried to reattach it, without luck.

She managed to get home safely, but now the car is undrivable until I get yet another new wiper or the rain stops. Since it's supposed to rain all week, more or less, I need to find a new wiper. This, I don't need.

That happened to me, except the driver's side one flew off. Talk about scary.
