While getting dressed for work this morning, I saw on CNN a press conference with the Chief of Police of Montgomery, Alabama. For those of you not up on current events, there are two suspects under arrest in the Washington, D.C.-area sniper murders, and the men are suspected of having been involved in a shooting at an Alabama convenience store that left one person dead and another wounded.

Reporter: Do you know if Maryland has the death penalty?

Police Chief: No, I don't know. **pause** Alabama certainly does.
