I have to go to Richmond for a day next week, and while I know I shouldn't worry too much about sniprish things, I do anyway.

I'd avoid wearing anything that looks like a bullseye.

Melanoia's are scary. I'm always outside and never use sunscreen, but I tan so easily and never seem to burn.

I had a job for a while at a defense contractor and had put down I was hispanic as a sort of protest. I resent affirmative action I suppose, and I can assure you they saw hispanic and put me at the head of the list.

Half my work was in the field, and one day I was talkin with the human resource girl and a secretary, and the secretary said she wanted my job cause I had such a nice tan. The Human Resource girl turned white, I guess she thought I might take offense, cause she jumped in and said I was "naturally dark" and gave a look to the secretary.

I came home and told the wife that and she had a good laugh.

Are you driving? If yes, make sure to fill up in Baltimore, or at least before you hit Montgomery County. Park close to entrances of buildings when you can and walk quickly. Some people recommend zigzagging. When moving from a building to the car, don't stop to put anything in the trunk. Take it with you into the car and dump it in the driver's seat.

If calling a cab stay inside until it arrives and don't put anything in the trunk (see above).

You know, i just noticed how ridiculous that just looked. The sad thing is it's all true.

That said, it's just a day. You'll be fine! If it makes you feel better, just stay indoors as much as possible when it's dark out.
