Oct. 18th, 2002 02:09 pmI met a couple of LJ people last night at the Slipper Room on the Lower East Side.
dangerboy is a cool guy with interesting stories to tell.
brooklyngirl and I didn't get to talk much, but she is a lovely and talented go-go dancer and, I am told, a lovely and talented Flash designer as well.
I also saw my first-ever drag king performance while I was there. By a strange coincidence, I had just read an essay by Tristan Taormino about how masculinity takes work, and that work is most visible when you see it on a woman. I enjoyed the show. I sort-of saw Tristan's point.
Tonight, our friend who moved to Amsterdam from New York will be in town, and she is giving a party at our apartment. It's a shame she couldn't bring, uh, party favors with her.
