Velma and I were chatting about how some people—including some mutual acquaintances—have a problem with assuming a degree of familiarity, and even intimacy, with a person that is excessive considering the true nature of the relationship. We agreed that this is not the sort of character flaw that you are likely to suffer gladly.
Ah, yes, this is true. Although occassionally I've come to regret being as harsh to some people about it as I've been, but c'est la vie. If I were nicer, I'd have a whole different set of headaches.
I got quite the laugh out of this, but also was like "woah! must be less antisocial!" -- not to everyone, jstu you know, the people I do actually socialize with when I socialize... blah, incoherent!
I think part of it is that you and I don't have the same problems with the mutual acquaintance, because we've been very clear, from the start, where boundaries are, and the consequences of crossing them are immediate and drastic.
Ah, I guessed right. And yes. I have a coupleof pretty busy weeks coming up with both work and auditions, but I'm hoping sometime in March people will actually see me.
