It' Snot Funny
Sep. 17th, 2002 05:30 amWhen we got to Budapest, some plant there gave me the worst hay fever I've had in a long time, despite the allergy meds I was taking. Still, things started to improve some by the time we left Hungary, and the offending plant wasn't spewing pollen all over Amsterdam. So I started to feel better.
That is, until our second day in Amsterdam, when I came down with a cold. I flew back to New York yesterday, just as the worst part of the cold hit. My ears still haven't recovered from the pressure changes, and I'm sure I completely grossed out a whole bunch of my fellow passengers.
I'm safely back home now, surrounded by tissues and medication. My wife is still in Europe, though, because she gets five weeks of vacation a year, while I get only two. She and a friend are leaving today for Scotland, where they will spend a few days in Edinburgh and a few more in Glasgow. My wife comes back home on Saturday.
