This was an extraordinarily productive weekend for me, even if I didn't finish everything I wanted to. But then, I never finish everything I want to because I have unreasonable desires.

Yesterday was computer day. I dug the various pieces of various computers out of various boxes and set up my home network. When I finished, I discovered that Verizon had lied and that my DSL was not, in fact, working. Nonetheless, getting the computers set up also meant straightening out the closet, which made room for me to put other things away. I got all the papers out of the file cabinet and was thus able to carry it to the storage space, further tidying up the new apartment.

Today's main achievement was my putting up shelves in our bedroom closet. This was complicated by my discovery early in the process that our walls were built differently than I had thought. This meant I had bought the wrong kind of anchors, which in turn meant a return trip to the Container Store for the right kind of anchors. The trip turned into a trip to the Container Store; Bed, Bath, and Beyond; The Leather Man; and CVS.

By this evening, though, there was a sturdy, level row of shelves in the closet, and I'm pleased about that. We put away other stuff, cleaned up and rearranged, and Lauren made a lovely dinner. We're still not totally settled, but we're closer.

I think I pulled my hamstring on Friday at the gym, so I don't know when I'll be able to work out again. This is especially vexing because I had started to feel focused on going to the gym, but also because I'm feeling heavier than I want to be.

Lauren is very pregnant and very uncomfortable. I intend to remind her of this if she ever starts making noises about doing this again.
