The test is over, it kicked my butt, and I'll find out how I did in six weeks. The relevant Yahoo! group is abuzz about how unusually difficult this one was, especially since they tested the bejeesus out of two areas they usually don't cover much, if at all.

But I'm starting to mellow out and feel a little rested. In that vein, here are some random notes about the big day.

  • The proctors began the day by accidentally distributing the question booklets for the afternoon session.
  • My first real clue that this was a clusterfuck came when the test booklets for the morning session were successfully distributed. Every book was defective, missing the same four pages.
  • One of the proctors, a bovine woman with a permanently foul expression and an accent from somewhere in New Europe, knocked over a glass of water while passing around the sign-in sheets, saturating some guy's notes.
  • Thanks to her inability to tell time, the other proctor tried to give us 63 minutes for our 90-minute lunch break.
  • Lunch included overhearing a surreal conversation between an office-manger-type and her subordinate that took a New Agey turn, which led to a discussion between them of the "Knights of Templeton."
  • At times over the next few weeks, you may see me try to stifle a chuckle. In those moments, I will be pondering the words, "Continuation in part? What the Hell is that?" You will never understand why that's funny, so don't ask.

And so it goes.

Sounds like the test from hell by your account. "Bovine woman"?? Okay that was my belly laugh for the day.
