Oct. 11th, 2003 11:27 pmI'm currently closeted with my study materials for the big test, and conversely I'm withdrawn from the outside world. This will last until I finish the exam late Wednesday afternoon. I think I'm likely to pass at this point, but my margin of error is a great deal smaller than I'd like it to be. Fortunately, I still have three full days to work on it. I am taking all of next week off from work.
Since I'm not actually talking to anyone right now, I thought I'd let everyone know how I'm doing. I feel pretty good, actually. Eating and drinking cause no pain, but I'm still trying to limit the grease, spice, and alcohol. I have a follow-up appointment in about a week.
I lost about six pounds during the whole thing, which would be great if about half of it weren't muscle. Still, it's nice to be leaner. I am told that I looked drawn and sickly a few days ago, but that I look a lot better now, so that's good, too.
There are the little matters of the lost muscle and the fact that lying in bed all day and not eating does nasty things to one's muscle tone, so I'm trying to exercise again, with some success. I tire more easily, though, and I ache afterwards even though I'm really not pushing myself, I promise. That will pass with time, I'm sure. Maybe I should stick to cardio for one more week before I go back to the weights.
Finally, because of the test, I am taking the entirety of next week off from work. This means, among other things that I will have a four-day weekend to recover. Go me.
