A busy day.
Today was the first day of my VB .NET class. I suppose it could be a useful class, but under the circumstances, I don't think it's going to work that way. Classes tend to work best when the students are at about the same level. Here it's just me and another guy: I don't know how long this guy's been coding, but he's unemployed (possibly unemployable), and really doesn't seem to know much of anything beyond what's necessary to put together Visual Basic applications. Since VB .NET is basically Java with a Visual-Basic-like syntax, that's a handicap, and we're moving slowly.
I'm bored already. There are four more days.
I'm thinking about walking into a Java certification exam cold and taking it, just to show how studly I am. I'll have to see if my job will pay for it first.
Meanwhile, the class entailed waking up earlier than I'm used to, so I needed a nap when I got home. This meant there wasn't enough time for the gym. I did accomplish several tasks, including cleaning the spoiled food out of the fridge (the heavy cream was downright scary), mostly unpacking from the trip, sorting some of the laundry, and watering all the plants. This leaves roughly a million things left.
I'm horribly behind on my patent bar studies, although I've covered everything there is on patent claims. The next subject on the syllabus is novelty. I'm sure you're fascinated.
Tomorrow night is volleyball, which I haven't been able to play much this season. After that, I join my wife at a friend's where we will watch an episode of the latest season of The Real World in the company of one of the directors.
