I need your support. I'm hosting an emergency fundraiser for Choice USA on November 6th at a gallery in Chelsea.

As you know, funding for progressive groups, especially organizations involved with pro-choice issues, has virtually dried up in the past few years as funders have cut back on donations. This year we celebrated the 30th anniversary of Roe v. Wade—but it's hard to celebrate when the pro-choice movement is being attacked on all fronts. The debate on partial-birth abortions now in the Senate is a perfect—albeit very scary—example of how close we are to losing our right to choose.

Co-founded by Gloria Steinem, Choice USA is a national organization dedicated to nurturing, training and mobilizing emerging pro-choice leaders at high schools and universities nationwide. With the help of Choice USA, more than 70 chapters and associated organizations across the country plan and win campaigns to ensure comprehensive sex education, improve access to emergency contraception, repeal the global gag rule, and address issues specific to their communities with the help of Choice USA staff.

Join me on November 6 and meet Crystal Plati, Choice USA's dynamic director, along with our activists and members of our board of directors, for an evening of fun, food, and conversation about the changing face of the reproductive rights movement. Share your thoughts, ask questions, learn more about our work and find out how you can help.
