On the Road Again
Aug. 6th, 2003 03:23 pmAs I mentioned, I am currently at the south Jersey shore, watching my wife go the the beach.
We're also being social. Friends spent last night here before traveling on to Cape May. They joined us for dinner last night, during which I had occasion to say, "So what you're saying is, you've both seen Laurie Anderson naked." This afternoon, I had lunch with my Aunt, who lives nearby, and who is recovering from a radical mastectomy. She seemed surprisingly well.
Fortunately, a friend seems to be making good use of our apartment back home as a refuge from roommates. The plants also get taken care of that way.
I just learned that I will have to come back to New York Thursday evening so I can meet with an important client on Friday morning. I will come back on Friday afternoon, which means that I'm spending a lot of time on casino buses.
Then, next week, I have to go to Chicago. I leave New York Tuesday afternoon, and I'll be there until Friday evening. Friday, I fly directly to Washington, D.C., for a bar mitzvah. (It seems the height of rudeness to schedule a bar mitzvah in DC in August, but that's family for you, especially cheap-ass family.)
We're leaving DC on Saturday night, with a stop in Philadelphia to see assorted family. Sunday is back in New York, for only two or three weeks before Dayton.
If you're used to seeing me around, and you're not, now you know why.
